    As we are the Alife website, and Mark Bedau is a friend, would it be possible to get the magazine published online here. I don't have access to an academic library at the moment, and I think the articles inside the magazine could lead to interesting discussions.

    I doubt it :-(

    ALJ is published by MIT Press. Unless they switch to an open access policy for everyone, they are not going to allow papers from it to be published for free here.

    Having said that, the last few ALIFE conferences have had open access proceedings published by MIT Press.

    I'm going to the Alife 13 conference in July, and will raise the issue there!

    I heard from someone on the board that the board is thinking along the same lines, Tim. Those on the board who email me seem very supportive of the freshsim/biota models. I'm not going to make any year-to-year comparisons with the Journal although let's just say all concerned see the writing on the... internet.
